MISSION STATEMENT

     DEVELOP A MISSION STATEMENT THAT EXPRESSES YOUR OWN LIFE GOALS, AMBITIONS AND DESIRES.  THIS MISSION STATEMENT SHOULD REFLECT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HELP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TO ACCOMPLISH GOALS FOR LIFE.

     DEVELOP A LIST OF GOALS YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN THIS LIFE TIME. ASK YOURSELF, "WHEN MY LIFE HAS ENDED HERE ON EARTH, IT WILL HAVE BEEN COMPLETE AND FULL OF JOY AND HAPPINESS WHEN I'VE ACCOMPLISHED ________________________?"

 

PURPOSE

     EACH PERSONS LIFE CAN BE HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL BY CONCENTRATING ON SIX AREAS OF DEVELOPMENT:

 

      1) FAMILY

      2) SPIRITUAL

      3) INTELLECTUAL

      4) ECONOMICAL

      5) PHYSICAL

      6) SOCIAL

 

IN YOUR OWN WORDS OR TERMS DESCRIBE THE PURPOSE FOR EACH AREA OF CONCENTRATION.  (SEE EXAMPLES)

 

      FAMILY:  TO RAISE CHILDREN IN A SECURE LOVING ENVIRONMENT GOVERNED WITH ORDER AND LOVE THAT IS RIGHTEOUS AND COMMITTED TO FAMILY.

 

      SPIRITUAL:  TO GAIN FAITH, HOPE, CHARITY AND BE INFLUENCED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD IN MY ACTIONS, DECISIONS, AND ASSOCIATIONS IN THIS LIFE AND TO LIVE ALL, TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITIES.

 

      INTELLECTUAL: TO GAIN ALL THE INTELLIGENCE IN THIS LIFE I CAN BY STUDY, EXPERIENCE AND FAITH WHILE USING THAT KNOWLEDGE TO BENEFIT MY FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND ASSOCIATES.

 

      ECONOMICAL: TO BENEFIT FROM MY LABORS IN HONESTY AND DILIGENCE, WHILE SUPPORTING MY FAMILY WITH THE NECESSITIES OF LIFE.

 

      PHYSICAL:  TO LEARN OBEDIENCE BY MASTERING MY FLESH AND CONQUERING THE ENEMIES THAT HIDE WITHIN. 

 

     

SOCIAL:  TO LEARN LOVE FOR MY FELLOWMAN BY GAINING EXPERIENCE, THROUGH SERVICE, AND LOVE, TO MY COMMUNITY, CHURCH, COUNTRY AND GOVERNMENT.

ONE YEAR PLAN

 

     FAMILY GOALS:

     LIST EACH GOAL YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH AS THE   LEADER OF YOUR FAMILY.  HOLD A FAMILY COUNCIL, INVITE THEIR IDEAS AND INCORPORATE THEM INTO YOUR GOALS.  REVIEW THESE GOALS ONCE A MONTH ON YOUR OWN AND MEASURE YOUR OWN PROGRESS. YOU COULD USE A GOOD FRIEND OR MINISTER TO HELP IN YOUR PROGRESS.

 

     SPIRITUAL GOALS:

     EVERY PERSON KNOWS THEIR PRESENT SPIRITUAL STATUS. ASK YOURSELF, "WHERE DO I WANT TO BE SPIRITUALLY ONE YEAR FROM NOW"?  "WHAT MUST I DO TO GET THERE"?  LIST YOUR GOALS AND REVIEW THEM REGULARLY.          

 
     INTELLECTUAL GOALS:
     CONSIDER WHAT INTELLECTUAL CHALLENGES YOU NEED TO FEEL MORE PRODUCTIVE, SATISFIED OR FULFILLED.  LIST THOSE GOALS YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS YEAR.

 

     ECONOMICAL GOALS:

     YOU HAVE EXAMINED YOUR FINANCIAL STATUS. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO IMPROVE ON THIS YEAR?  DON'T OVER EXTEND YOUR ABILITY BUT BE REALISTIC AND STICK TO YOUR GOALS.

    

     PHYSICAL GOALS:

     THIS IS AN AREA WE CAN IMPROVE ON, OVER-WEIGHT, UNDER-WEIGHT, OUT OF SHAPE, WHATEVER? LIST WHAT YOU NEED TO ACCOMPLISH OR WANT TO ACHIEVE TO BE MORE-HEALTHY. NOW GET A PHYSICAL EXAMINE.  DEVELOP GOOD HONEST ACHIEVABLE GOALS.

    

     SOCIAL GOALS:

     WE SOMETIMES NEGLECT OUR SOCIAL NEEDS. EACH PERSON HAS A CIRCLE OF FRIENDS, AND INFLUENCE.  EXAMINE YOUR OWN NEEDS; P.T.A., CLUBS, CHURCH, NEIGHBORHOOD, POLITICAL OR WHATEVER YOU FEEL THE NEED TO DEVELOP OR EXPAND.               

 

LIST YOUR GOALS.

 

THE EASY PART IS DONE.  NOW TO ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS IT TAKES DEDICATION, DISCIPLINE, AND HARD WORK.  GET A JOURNAL THAT IS A DAILY CALENDAR TYPE.  SIT DOWN WITH YOUR GOALS AND JOURNAL AND SET TARGET DATES TO ACCOMPLISH CERTAIN PORTIONS OF YOUR GOALS.

KEEP A WRITTEN JOURNAL OF EACH DAY AND WHAT YOU DID OR DIDN'T DO. SOON YOU WILL SEE A GREAT IMPROVEMENT OR YOU WILL DISCOVER YOU WON'T ACCOMPLISH SOMETHING BECAUSE IT ISN'T IMPORTANT ENOUGH.  IF IT'S NOT GETTING DONE SET ANOTHER MORE REALISTIC GOAL BUT DO SOMETHING.

 

PLANNING FOR SUCCESS IS AS CLOSE TO PERFECTION AS SOME MIGHT ACCOMPLISH IN THIS LIFE. WITHOUT PLANNING, PERFECTION MIGHT BE UNATTAINABLE.  WE DO KNOW THAT OUR FUTURE IS DETERMINED BY WHAT WE ARE THINKING, PLANNING, AND WORKING TOWARD NOW.  USE THIS OCCASION (NOW) TO PLAN, WE ALL PLAN, BUT CAN WE INVOLVE GOD INTO OUR FUTURE GOALS AND THEIR JOYOUS FRUITION?  THIS IS ONE WAY. IT'S SIMPLE DIRECT AND IF USED RIGHT CAN LEAD TO SUCCESS.  BY RECORDING IN YOUR JOURNAL AND REPORTING IT BECOMES VISUAL AND YOU COME TO KNOW YOURSELF BETTER.

 

USE THESE SAME IDEAS TO TEACH YOUR FAMILY HOW TO SET GOALS AND ACCOMPLISH THEM. REMEMBER PLANNING INCLUDES CONQUERING INNER SPACE. TWO OF THE MORE HARMFUL EMOTIONS ARE WORRY AND GUILT.  WORRY HAS NO MORE OF A POSITIVE ATTRIBUTE THAN SMOKING AND GUILT LIKE FEAR, IS GIVEN TO US FOR SURVIVAL, NOT DISTRUCTION, IT’S A WARNING SIGNAL TELLING US, SOMETHING IS WRONG. STRESS, PAIN, AND GUILT ARE ALL NORMAL BUT WHEN WE DON’T CHANGE OUR LIVES THEN THESE THREE WITH FEAR BECOME DISTRESS AND DISTRESS KILLS. GUILT WHEN CORRECTED BECOMES POSITIVE BUT THE ADVERSARY WANTS US TO REMAIN UNDER DISTRESS AND IF WE DON’T FORGIVE OURSELVES AFTER WE HAVE CHANGED THEN OUR LIVES REMAIN UNDER DISTRESS. OUR LIVES BECOME IMMOBILIZING BECAUSE WE ARE STILL WORRYING ABOUT GUILT AND HOW IT WILL EFFECT YOUR FUTURE AND WE NOW LIVE IN THE PAST, STILL GUILT RIDDEN, WORRYING, AND UNDER DISTRESS.  DISTRESS KILLS AND IF WE REMAIN LOCKED TO IT WE WILL SURELY NEVER BE RELEASED UNTIL WE FORGIVE OURSELVES. LIFE IS A CONTINUING CYCLE, MUCH LIKE THE SEA.  THE CONSTANT SHIFTING OF THE OCEAN CAUSE WAVES AND WAVES CLEANSE THE SEA FROM POLUTION. CLEAN INNER SELF BY CHANGING AND MOVING ON-WARD.
